Maryland Cannabis Patient Registry Now Opening

MetroXMD Patient Registry Maryland Cannabis Commission

Maryland patient registry is opening on April 24th for patients.

The medical cannabis commission has opened the patient registry to the public on April 24th. This marks a significant moment for Medical Marijuana Program and patients can finally look forward to receiving their medicine. There has been a plethora of information released, but the main points are noted in this article.

HOW DO I REGISTER AS A PATIENT?

A patient can register as a qualifying patient on the new MMCC website: http://mmcc.maryland.gov/Pages/patients.aspx
Once a patient registers they will receive a 25-digit Unique Identifier Number/Commission-assigned number. This number is to be given to the physician who recommends them for medical cannabis.

HOW DOES THE PHYSICIAN SUBMIT MY RECOMMENDATION?

The patient’s registered physician can link to the patient by entering the patient’s Commission-assigned number on the Commission’s secure database, and then issue an online certification for medical marijuana.  Patients can then obtain medical cannabis at any licensed Dispensary in Maryland by presenting their valid government ID.  The physician needs your 25-digit ID number so if you have it simply email it to them.

IS THERE A RESIDENCY TO PARTICIPATE IN THE MEDICAL CANNABIS PROGRAM?

No, patients do not have to live in Maryland to participate in the program. Although Maryland will not accept out-of-state patients, out-of-state residents can become in-state patients by receiving a recommendation from a licensed Maryland doctor registered with the state

WHERE CAN I GET MEDICAL CANNABIS?

The Maryland cannabis commission has stated they expect dispensaries to be up and running by August 2017.

DO I NEED TO GO TO A SPECIAL CLINIC TO GET A MEDICAL CANNABIS CARD?

No. You can establish a bonafide relationship with a doctor who can recommend you for medical cannabis.

HOW MUCH CANNABIS CAN I BUY AT ONE TIME?

Patients can maintain up to four ounces per month.
With the Maryland Cannabis Patient Registry now opening in a few weeks, if you need to connect with a doctor to get your Maryland recommendation please book an appointment or contact us today.

I’m a Virginia resident and wondering if I have to come to MD. to see a doctor then come again to Maryland to get marijuana another day?

    • Hi Mustafa, yes that is correct. Patients are getting their recommendations now so when dispensaries open this summer they can go directly there to purchase.
